Re: Republican Senators Vote to Formally Silence Elizabeth Warren

I actually agree that McConnell probably made a small blunder. This occurred late at night when most people would have been in bed. Middle America just yawns and goes to work. They could careless about this. It is a big money maker for Warren... the e-mail blast have gone out and the money is rolling in.

But she did violate the rule 19. I have no idea how often this is used? Never heard of it until today.
I do find it funny that the left still can not accept Trump as president. He won 306 electoral votes!
Everyone knew the rules of the election!

Who are you referring to with this statement?

"But she did violate the rule 19."

Specifically, how did Warren violate this rule by reading into the record a letter written by Coretta Scott King that 2 other senators also read/referenced on the senate floor during the debate over Session's nomination in direct reference to his record and thereby his qualifications to hold and faithfully execute the office of the attorney general and uphold the laws of this nation in an unbiased manner without prejudice?

Re: Republican Senators Vote to Formally Silence Elizabeth Warren

A few weeks ago conservatives were dreaming about Warren failing to win re-election in 2018.
I have to say, people are pretty pumped up here.
Thanks, Mitch.

Mitch McConnell’s rebuke of Elizabeth Warren became a rallying cry on social media

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell may have prevented Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren from speaking on the Senate floor about attorney general nominee Jeff Sessions, but she may get the last laugh. Within hours, words were co-opted as a rallying cry celebrating powerful women on social media.

“She was warned. She was given an explanation. Nevertheless, she persisted,” the Kentucky senator said Tuesday night, defending his decision to invoke a Senate rule that prohibits members from impugning each other.

The rule was brought up after Warren tried to read from a letter written by Coretta Scott King three decades ago criticizing Sessions, who was nominated to be a federal judge at the time.

In addition to using the hashtag “#LetLizSpeak” to support Warren, people have rallied around the hashtag “#ShePersisted,” pointing toward women throughout history who have broken down barriers or defied the status quo.

Re: Republican Senators Vote to Formally Silence Elizabeth Warren

Isn't it true that Senators Brown and Sanders read the exact same letter in the Senate and no one stopped them?  McConnell kept his mouth shut.  What's up with that?  I'm tellin' ya, there's something going on here.  They didn't violate Rule 19, but Warren did?  Please explain.

Yep.
And Cruz didn't violate rule 19 when he called McConnell a "liar".
You figure it out. I already have.
