I KNOW it is way to early to tell, but just looking for opinions.
Personally I think he will.
I don't actually put the majority of blame on the President, but look just as much to how we nowadays look at politics and do our due diligence in understanding both sides of an argument. There is REALLY something to the notion that we all like to live in our "own bubbles". Fortunately I DO see hope on the horizion on that particular issue in the younger generation. Only time will tell if my observation is correct.
But, that said, because of the above (ignoring the up and coming generation), and because of OUR BUBBLES, and a President that panders to the bubble, I DO believe he will wind up being one of the most divisive Presidents in recent history.

I would say that, yes Donald Trump is the most divisive president in recent history. And I would say that that's intentional. He hasn't failed to unite people. Trump has not even tried.
In fact, trumps strategy of gaining the White House was based upon the division of groups. He's been more successful at that than any president since Richard Nixon employed the so called 'Southern strategy'.

It will be an interesting exercise to re-visit this in 4 years.

I'm questioning who is making the actual decisions that he acts as the mouthpiece for. Is Bannon the one running the show?

What try to "unite" people who have done nothing but name call and cry and whine about anything and everything he has done or not. There is absolutely nothing that Trump could do that would make you happy! Your vile disgraceful attacks most everyday show that type of anti-trump alt-left complainers he has to deal with. Attacks that occurred during the primaries, the general election as president elect and now as president.
Hateful speech that goes way over the top! The left is loony it is getting dangerous, riots, assaults on police assaults on conservative speakers. Middle America is watching this nonsense and is growing so tired of the left antics.

The thread isn't about me,or your silly insults. It's about Trump.
That is what the group wants to discuss.
If you disagree with my assessment, take a a moment, and try to put together few coherent sentences explaining why you do not believe that Trump is divisive.
For example, how about listing three things that TRump has done to attempt to reach out to someone who voted for the other side.

Ok, but here's the problem, Common: When one is campaigning for a position, he/she is in competition with members within his/her own club. After an election pitting one club champion against another, the campaign phase is over and the winner becomes the head and leader of the whole nation.
Unfortunately, it appears to me that Donald Trump never left the campaign mode and is ignoring the needs, wants, and desires of segments of the nation that didn't vote for him. I don't think it's a good idea for the leader of a diverse population to take a "my-way-or-the-highway" attitude and approach to governing. It can work under totalitarian rule, but in democratic forms of governance, a leader must be open to challenges and questioning that authoritarians don't have to deal with.

Please, common, respond to that. Agree, disagree and explain why.
Stop the insults and complaining about the critics. Tell me what Trump has done to try to bring the country together.

C'mon Common . . . Even you have to admit that his first couple of weeks have been . . . What's the word I'm looking for ? . . . Oh yeah, "disastrous" . . . The same word Trump likes to use about everything he disagrees with.
"The left" had previously expressed their opposition to Trump. His actions, tweetstorms, EO's, some of his appointments, his emotional reactions towards allies and enemies alike, have even begun to upset republicans, the judicial officials, military, defense, and intelligence operations, government leaders in Canada, Mexico, Australia, and U.N. & NATO representatives. The only group that seems satisfied with "Dear Leader's" initial actions and tantrums are his most ardent, far right, supporters who don't seem to realize yet that many of his stated policies and agenda will have a direct negative effect on their social and financial well being. The group keeping conspicuously silent are the corporate executives in the financial industries that see boom time on the horizon due to Trump's promise to deregulate that industry. Then they can go back to utilizing the same risky investment techniques that were the root cause of our most recent financial collapse. And guess who will suffer the most if that were to happen? The same group of angry, fed up with government, "make America great again" red baseball cap wearing, gun toting, immigrant hating, morons that still think Trump can do no wrong. Yeah, the same bunch of yahoos that still think Obama did everything wrong and was born in Kenya. You know, that head in the sand sect that believe the Clinton's shot, had killed, or screwed everyone that stood in their way. The conspiracy theorists out there that contend that Hillary arranged the Benghazi attack.
And those same people who have been ultra critical of the Obamas and the Clinton's are the deaf, dumb, and blind Tommys in the U.S. that refuse to see or admit to any errors or missteps that Trump and his group of elite alt-right hangers on have introduced this country to, despite the harm they may do. While, at the same time attack anyone with the chutzpah to stand up in deference to some of his inane, divisive, and sometimes illegal actions or edicts.
It's going to be an interesting 4 years.

I've noticed that common rarely, if ever, even attempts to defend an action or a statement that President Trumps makes.
Instead, common attacks the critics on personal terms. "Vile", "Disgraceful", "Looney".
I'm sorry, but this isn't anything more than name-calling.
Please, if you are a Trump fan, put your energy in explaining your reasoning.
You have been invited on numerous occasions by Fred, Lager, Ron,,, to explain a remark. But you never do.
In fact, I've noticed no surer sign that you are going to abandon a thread than when someone asks you to "please elaborate".
Sad.
