It’s about time.
Guess his first order of business will be to deal with the large scale mutiny currently
occurring at state. The democrats who voted for him will feel the wrath of the alt-left.
Senate confirms Tillerson as secretary of State
The Senate on Wednesday approved Rex Tillerson to lead President Trump's State Department, despite a late effort by Democrats to slow down the nomination. Tillerson was approved in a 56-43 vote. Though Democrats largely lined up against Tillerson, he got some Democratic support.
Democratic Sens. Joe Manchin (W.Va.), Heidi Heitkamp (N.D.), Mark Warner (Va.) and Independent Sen. Angus King (Maine) joined all Republicans in backing Trump’s nominee. Sen. Chris Coons (D-Del.) skipped the vote. Tillerson will take over his post as the country's top diplomat as lawmakers remain skeptical over Trump's foreign policy, including his stance toward Russia and Trump's controversial executive order on immigration.

It will be interesting to see how Rex deals with the subtle complexities of the state department and international affairs instead of the autocratic ivory tower declarations that were commonplace in the operations of ExxonMobile.
I can even see Rex & Donald having some disagreements.
It's going to be an interesting 4 years.

I don't know. I'm thinking that there are any number of matters that have a higher priority than going after some career diplomats who signed a letter of dissent on an EO. Iran, and renewed Russian aggression in Ukraine immediately spring to mind.
And, I think that Rex would be smart to bond with his department and show those who work there that he cares about its employees and will defend their right to dissent on occasion.

The world with Tillerson's lead will undoubtedly be a less contentious place.
