    I'll see if I can find the speeches later, but Madonna told the audience that she wants to blow up the White House, dropped several F  bombs on TV, called Trump "a dick",  and then proceeded to ask for Love and Unity.

    Ashley Judd gave this hot mess of a speech where she made lots of Nazi and Hitler references and just generally seemed unhinged.

    Michael Moore I thought made some decent remarks in terms of laying out a playbook for progressive activism at a local and regional  level.

    Given the unprecedented, and peaceful, protests the world over, dwelling on the likes of Madonna seems lacking in significance. That just isn't the story here.
    I mean, we are talking about 2 people out of about a million and a half.

    Fair point. But optics are important. Out of the 3 million people who marched, we only got to hear from a handful. The non celebrities who were interviewed from within the march were serious, thoughtful, and emotionally intelligent. They spoke well of the movement.

    But what's going to make the nightly news and viral memes on your Facebook page? Madonna yammering on about burning down the White House.

    That all I was saying. It just doesn't help the cause.

    Well that's true enough. But you have to understand the playbook of the right. They condemned the protest that took place on Friday because of some isolated episodes of vandalism.

    Then on Saturday we get a completely peaceful protest that involves millions of people the world over. But they'll try to discredit the protest because two celebrities used salty language. They're never going to find any protest ValId.

    I asked and Lager responded and now I would agree that both of the two performers are indeed insignificant.

    I guess 230 rioters is a little "distraction".

    WASHINGTON -- Most of the approximately 230 protesters arrested on Inauguration Day will be charged with felony rioting, federal prosecutors said. The protesters were armed with crowbars and threw objects at people and businesses, destroying storefronts and damaging vehicles. Six police officers were hurt -- three of them hit in the head with flying objects, CBS affiliate WUSA reported. According to the station, the six had minor injuries.
