Won't lie,I was surprised by this news. I really thought the CGI was something that was going to live long beyond the lives of Bill and Hillary Clinton. Sort of their lasting legacy beyond politics. It certainly did some good work for a while.
It would seem that the Clinton Global Initiative (CGI) will be coming to an end, due to plans to lay off its last group of employees in the next few months.
The Clinton Foundation issued a WARN filing with the New York Department of Labor, saying that 22 CGI employees will lose their jobs due to the “discontinuation of the Clinton Global Initative.”

Well, now that there isn't any pay to play money coming in to pad the Clinton's pockets, they must feel it's time to shut down. It's not like much of that money went to the needy.

Have you studied their books, or copied it from Breitbart, or from Jared Kushner's newspaper?

Gee, Tim . . . How do you explain the 4 star rating of the Clinton Foundation for financial and accountability & transparency by Charity Navigator . . . You are familiar with the most reliable and highly reputable organization for investigating and rating charitable organizations, aren't you?

Think TIm just reads what the R-tribe spouts and what some of the candidates running misstated.
BTW, the Clinton Foundation is NOT closing, just the CGI arm of the foundation. That the CGI is now NOT on the radar of high-rollers around the world is not really a huge surprise. Many think that most charitable donations are pure benevolence, I have no such preconception. A lot that is done in the name of charity is also done for political and business gain.
As an aside the Trump Foundation that NEVER was rated by Charity Navigator because of how it was structured has shuttered also. It had its share of shady dealing for sure.

Yes Tennyson, I am aware that the Clinton Foundation is not shutting down. The Clinton Global Initiative is under the umbrella of the Foundation and is/was included in Charity Navigator's assessment of the transparency and viability of the Foundation. I just wanted to challenge Tim's reckless, unverified, conspiracy theorist, nonsensical statement.

Thanks for the info everyone. I wasn't aware there was a difference between CGI and the Clinton Foundation.

By the way, according to Wikipedia, while the paperwork was filed with the NY department of labor in January,,,,,,,the Clinton foundation publicly announced that the Clinton Global Initiative would close back in September of 2016.
September. That would be before Hilary Clinton was defeated in the election.
That pretty much discredits the Tim / Breitbart charge that the initiative is closing because some fictional 'Pay for play' scheme was ended by the election.
Oh well,,,,,,,,,,facts are inconvenient things,,

That's correct because everyone believed she was going to win and wanted her to proactively shut down so there wouldn't even appear to be conflicts of interest with financial ties or foreign governments.
Considering where we are with Trump, the concern over conflicts of interest are hysterical now.

Then maybe we should file this under "fake news" !
(not that Breitbart EVER does that)
