Re: Trump Pre-Inauguration Press Conference

What the samhill was that?  I listened to this thing and god help us, but I thought press conferences were supposed to be Q and A between the press and the object of the conference.  All I heard was how terrific things were going to be and how terrific the people around him are.  Everything is going to be terrific!

No plans, no in depth answers about anything except it's going to be terrific, no rationale for positions on issues, etc.  What the hell did we get ourselves into?

Re: Trump Pre-Inauguration Press Conference

You know the big stacks of folders showing how Trump has divested himself from his businesses,,, the ones on the big table.

Just stage props. Reporters are not being allowed to read them.

Re: Trump Pre-Inauguration Press Conference

Every ethics organization in the U. S. government and beyond will initiate legislation over several matters beginning on day one including Trump's handing over the companies to his sons.  "He won't know anything until he reads it in the media; won't talk to his sons about the business."  Who does he think he's kidding?  How stupid does he believe the American people are--aside from those who voted for him?  Another serious question raised by someone in the media--Trump's name is on things all over the world and the buildings are open to terrorists attacks.  Who will  be responsible for the damages?   The U.S. Taxpayers?  Trump's family?  How does he avoid learning of the losses to his businesses?  It's going to be a minefield of ethics questions on January 20th.

Re: Trump Pre-Inauguration Press Conference

With all the excellent, exceptional people Trump has on his transition staff, nominees for cabinet offices, international contacts, and business associates, you'd have thought that at least one of them would have told him that the election is over and the campaign stump speeches are no longer necessary or viable.

That 'press conference' was a joke . . . a circus . . . I would have laughed or felt entertained if it wasn't for the fact that the president of the United States is a serious and important position. The only thing that can be said for that canned performance was that it showed that the Trump administration is ill prepared for the tasks ahead of them, has no definitive plans on how to address problems, is either unaware or unconcerned about issues, and will have answers/solutions next Wednesday.

However, it will play well with his supporters from a political standpoint because it's the same ill defined red meat he's been throwing in front of them throughout the whole campaign, and they'll continue to eat it up.

To that point, I would like to get feedback from Common, Tim, The Man, and any other Trump supporters who watched today's press conference and get their feedback.

Re: Trump Pre-Inauguration Press Conference

I have to say I am glad I missed it.

My guess is that he will not be having too many press conferences.

I'm not a Trump supporter, I just voted for him to stop Hillary.  I didn't watch the press conference, I had to work.

Re: Trump Pre-Inauguration Press Conference

Didn't see the news conference as I was at work, but from all the reports it sounds like typical Trump.  If anyone thinks that he is going to change, I am afraid they are going to be sorely disappointed.  He is what he is.

Why, from a policy standpoint did you want to stop Hillary?
What did you expect Trump to do differently, and to your liking?
How has his behavior since the election played with you?
