Stop trying to undermine Trump legitimacy
Good article written by someone, who from his words in this article and other stories he has written, is NOT a fan of Trump. Not being a fan of Trump myself, I agree with much of what this guy wrote though.
He was properly elected, as were Obama and Bush. This ideological weapon needs to be retired.
House Speaker Paul Ryan stood stone-faced behind House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi as she addressed the new 115th Congress. Before handing him the gavel, she tossed a Molotov cocktail at the GOP — saying our democracy cannot be "subverted by the dark operations of a foreign regime."
Pelosi was referring, of course, to reports that Russia had attempted to influence the American election in favor of Donald Trump, who it is believed is friendlier to the Russian regime. Just days before U.S. intelligence agencies released findings to that effect, she was surfing a wave of stories like one in the New York Times that bore the headline "Obama Strikes Back at Russia for Election Hacking."
This tapestry of vagueness has led to confusion about what exactly happened during the election. According to a recent YouGov poll, 52% of Democrats think the Russians "definitely" or "probably" tampered with vote tallies to help Trump's election.

Couple of things to ponder
1. Only a few months ago Trump was insuating the election was rigged
2. Polls of which this is one, were horribly wrong about the election itself. We need to take polls for what they are - a sampling whose analysis could be significantly off

We live in a time in which decent and otherwise sensible people are surrendering too easily to the hectoring of morons or extremists.

The article points out that questioning the "legitimacy" of recent Presidents has occurred, and it has been idiotic. Point is, it shouldn't have happened with Obama and it shouldn't happen with Trump either. We need to move past the point where we say "but the other side did it last".
"Of course, this is by no means a partisan phenomenon. Throughout Barack Obama's presidency, fringe Republicans pushed the idea that Obama was not born in the United States, and thus was ineligible to hold office. Ironically, one of the primary reasons Trump is unqualified for the presidency is that he gave life to the moronic "birther" movement."

There are many reason why Trump is unqualified to be POTUS. Let's us start with his perpetual lying; his necessity to get revenge on any one or thing that disagrees with him; then there's his blatant racism, particularly against Muslims; his narcissism; out of control ego and many believe he's a maniac. In the least he's shown to be unstable.

So, 52% of Democrats say the Russians tampered with votes even though all intelligence agencies and Obama say there is no evidence. So are 52% of Democrats out of touch with reality?

In light of recent events we might want to be careful about inferring too much from a single poll of 1376 people.
But hey, if you want to go there, I'm good with it.
Instead of cherry picking a single number that makes one side look crazy, how about we look at the entire poll.
Lest Republicans get too smug, one should note that
in the same poll you are quoting, they found that 49 percent of registered Republicans believe that Clinton staffers used code words for pedophilia, human trafficking and satanic rituals in emails released by WikiLeaks, (“Pizzagate.”)
In that same poll, 52% of registered Republicans believe that Obama was born in Kenya
In that same poll, 52% of registered Republicans believe that millions of fraudulent votes were cast in the last election.
Looks like about the same percentage of republicans may be out of touch with reality.

Crappy poll. We can all see that now. I didn't think the issue was about vote tampering anyway. It's about ignoring the fact that foreign nations now have the capability to mess around with our election process by hacking into emails and/or spreading false information and fake news to sway American voters.

For what it's worth, while you're always going to have those rabble rousers who aren't going to be able to get over the fact that Trump won and will look to any reason, no matter how far-fetched, to de-legitimize his presidency.
They have a wonderful set of examples to look towards with the anti-Obama outlets and people like World Net Daily or Sheriff Joe, and the more radical elements of the tea party, or could even go back to those who claimed the Diebold Corporation handed George W. Bush the state of Ohio in 2004.
At the end of the day though, the overwhelming majority of people believe Trump was fairly elected, based on the system we have in place and will either support or oppose him.

Trump has four years to prove his worth and suitability as president. It's up to him to legitimize the people's choice.
