Yes, it is good news. Hopefully they'll be able to keep the plant open and operating for gainful employment in the area.
With Fiat/Chrysler's (in particular Jeep products) dismal quality and recall history, continued forecasted production levels and any chance of expansion are not a likely proposition.

I agree with Rongone on BOTH points.
Clearly good news for the 2,000 to be employed.
Chrysler/Fiat has a long way to go in terms of reliability and build quality of their products. (I DO Like the new Fiat Spyder)

How much longer will Chrysler survive continuing to build trashy, junk vehicles.
