Big problems ahead for Cruz. The Donald is on this like white on rice according to this article in the Business Insider:

Cruz announced on Monday that he will run for president and Trump, who is also considering a presidential bid, wondered if the Texan was even eligible to become commander-in-chief.
"It's a hurdle, somebody could certainly look at it very seriously," Trump told My Fox New York on Monday, about Cruz's foreign birthplace.
The senator was born in Alberta to an American mother and a Cuban born father. Cruz's Canadian roots have caused some questions about his presidential bid, though many experts say they don't affect his eligibility due to his mother's citizenship.
"He was born in Canada. If you know and when we all studied our history lessons, you are supposed to be born in this country, so I just don't know how the courts would rule on it. It's an additional hurdle that he has," Trump added, hinting that Cruz wouldn't qualify as a "natural born citizen," one of the constitutional requirements for a U.S. president.
Trump, who was born in Queens, New York, previously spearheaded the effort to question the legitimacy of President Barack Obama's birth certificate and alleged Obama was actually born abroad and forged the document to list Hawaii as his birthplace.
The White House ultimately released Obama's birth certificate in 2011 after the president complained "this thing just keeps on going."
Though Trump voiced his doubts about Cruz's birthplace, the real estate reality star did compliment Cruz's chances.
"It's going to be interesting to see how Ted does. I know him very well, he's a smart guy and could do pretty well. It's not going to easy for anybody, it's going to be a competitive field," Trump told the morning show.
Earlier this month, Trump said that he is forming an exploratory committee to consider a presidential run and bragged, "I get the biggest crowds," when asked about events he held in New Hampshire.
"I'll decide sometime by June," he said about the timeline for a potential campaign announcement.
The Donald is an expert on this subject, and I don't expect him to let this go until he gets to the bottom of it. And, if there's anyone who can dig to the bottom, it's Donald Trump.

Well, at least the guy is consistent on this issue. I guess the difference being that Barack Obama was born to a US citizen in the USA, while Cruz was born to a US citizen living in another country.
At any rate, it's a chewy toy Trump can play with until the election.

Well, it seems that before we can have the campaign for the republican nomination, we must have this reality show where the GOP crazies get to strut their stuff.
We live in a time in which decent and otherwise sensible people are surrendering too easily to the hectoring of morons or extremists.

Ted Cruz going on Obamacare
The newly announced Republican presidential candidate told CNN's Dana Bash on Tuesday that he will sign up for health care coverage through the Affordable Care Act -- a law he has been on a crusade to kill.
"We'll be getting new health insurance and we'll presumably do it through my job with the Senate, and so we'll be on the federal exchange with millions of others on the federal exchange," Cruz said.
Asked whether he would accept the government subsidy available to lawmakers and congressional staffers for their health care coverage through the ACA, Cruz said he will "follow the text of the law."
"I strongly oppose the exemption that President Obama illegally put in place for members of Congress because (Senate Minority Leader) Harry Reid and the Senate Democrats didn't want to be under the same rules as the American people," Cruz said, before repeating: "I believe we should follow the text of the law."

Sen. Cruz: Defund Obamacare before Americans become ‘addicted’ to subsidies
DENVER — Sen. Ted Cruz urged conservatives Saturday to join a petition drive to defund Obamacare, calling it their last chance to stop the national health-care plan before its implementation in January.
“On Jan. 1, the exchanges kick in and the subsidies kick in,” said the Texas Republican in a speech Saturday at the Western Conservative Summit. “Once those kick in, it’s going to prove almost impossible to undo Obamacare. The administration’s plan is very simple: Get everyone addicted to the sugar so that Obamacare remains a permanent feature of our society.”
