Good posts, Tennyson, and Lager.
In general, most of us hold our police in high regard, and would look for ways to support them.
And, they deserve our respect.
American respect for police reaches highest level in 50 years
When a police department has problems, and those problems are not dealt with properly, it is entirely appropriate for every citizen from me on up to the President to voice our opinion.
To brand any criticism as "bashing" is to put one's head in the sand and let problems fester.

The majority of people certainly support police and do not "bash" them, but if you think nobody "bashes" them you must live in an isolated world.
Everytime some sort of police incident happens, I see many people on Facebook, either people I know or people who comment on news stories, say nothing but disparaging things about all police in general.
The response to many police incidents has lead to what is referred to as the "Ferguson effect", where police presence drops in crime-ridden areas, arrests decrease and violent crimes and homicides increase (like what happened in Baltimore and Chicago). I'm sure the way the mayor and prosecutor handled the incident in Baltimore has helped to exacerbate the situation with police officer recruitment in Baltimore

Please don't put words in my mouth.

One of the more tear-jerking moments of 2016 was the people who were protesting the Dallas police ending up mourning with the Dallas police when those five officers were killed by that psychopathic sniper.
In case you don't remember Common, President Obama said at the time, the shooting was a "vicious, calculated, despicable attack" and a "tremendous tragedy". Doesn't sound like someone who was "anti-police".
At the memorial for the officers, President Obama praised the Dallas police as heroes and called the killings "an act not just of demented violence but of racial hatred."

I didn't say you did, so how am I putting words in your mouth? If you would look back over the thread, someone else did say that.

Look at Tennyson's post 10, I was referencing what he said there. It had absolutely nothing to do with you

Are you telling me that Obama supported law enforcement? No I know that is not what you are saying Lager. A comment from Obama about the worst police ambush in years does not equal support.

Yes, Obama supported law enforcement.
I realize that the village idiot won't see it.
The rest You've written doesn't even warrant comment.
Can I do anything else for you?
