In most cases they neither love it nor hate it, they're just required to purchase it, or pay an even more expensive fine instead.
You might need to double check that. The penalty in 2016 was $695 for an adult or 2.5% or income. Most are low wage earners so the $695 will likely be close. Try to buy any health insurance for $695 total for the year ! . For 2017 the penalty is pretty much the same (2.5 % remains, but flat amount will be adjusted for inflation so generally the same).

Virtually anyone with a job, even a part time minimum wage job, 2.5% of their income would be a lot more than $695, and they would pay the 2.5% fine if they didn't buy health insurance.

OK, let's do the math.
A part time job. Let's say 30 hours per week.
Minimum wage in Pennsylvania is, I believe $7.25 an hour.
So, someone with a part time, minimum wage job working 30 hours a week would make 30 X 7.25 = $217.50 per week.
Let's say they take one week a year off for vacation.
51 weeks X $217.50 = $11,092.50 per year.
A fine of 2.5 % of that annual income would be = $277.31
$277.31 is less than $695.

Ok good point, my mistake. But, someone who earns that little would be eligible for Medicaid, so they wouldn't be the people buying health insurance through the Obamacare exchange.

We still haven't addressed the central question. Millions of people get insurance thru the ACA. A large percentage of them get subsidies to offset the cost of their premiums.
If the new administration makes good on it's promise to repeal the ACA, what happens to these people?
I am assuming that both the exchanges and the subsidies would go away. To me that looks like 12 million or so people will be worse off than before.

And the point is that in general for the low income it IS affordable.
Just how much do you think an average person will pay for health insurance yearly WITHOUT the ACA ??
IF the POTUS-elect repeals the ACA (which he HAD "promised" to do) and does not have at least the same cost and availability for those displaced it will be a mess for the R-tribe.
The ACA has issues and they can be corrected, but we will see just how the "new" healthcare costs roll out for those currently enrolled. Again, I believe it to be a lot of election "bluster".
