Re: A Chilling Snapshot of Partisanship

So there is no link to the poll conducted by a British tabloid and reported by a left-wing equivalent of Fox News? That about it?

What exactly is there to discuss here?

Re: A Chilling Snapshot of Partisanship

Hey, he's ANOTHER poll from the chicago Council on Global affairs.

They put Republican support of Putin even higher, 37%

By December 2016, Republicans’ favorable views of Putin increased again to 37 percent, perhaps reflecting the more positive attitude toward Russia displayed by the GOP’s new leader,

Now go ahead, keep obfuscating*.
* To obfuscate is render obscure, unclear, or unintelligible.
You're welcome

Re: A Chilling Snapshot of Partisanship

Oh look, Politico is discussing the same poll!

Trump has downplayed any role Russia played in the election and high profile hacks of the Democratic National Committee and Hillary Clinton campaign chairman John Podesta. And some of his top appointments — including his pick for national security adviser, Michael Flynn, and his selection for secretary of state, ExxonMobil CEO Rex Tillerson — have longstanding ties to Russia and personal relationships with Putin himself.

The change in views has been swift.

Back in July 2014 just 10 percent of Republicans held a favorable view of Putin, according to a poll conducted by the Economist and YouGov. By September of 2016, that number rose to 24 percent. And it's even higher today: 37 percent of Republicans view Putin favorably, the poll found in December.

By the way, the Economist is not a British tabloid, you poor fellow.
Unbelievable.

Re: A Chilling Snapshot of Partisanship

So, why do you think that 37% of Trump voters have a favorable opinion of Putin?
And why is The Man so desperate that we not discuss this?

I don't understand what you're talking about in that sentence???  You're going to have to explain that one to me.

Re: A Chilling Snapshot of Partisanship

And so what if people do have a favorable view of Putin? Isn't love and tolerance a good thing? I mean, a lot of liberals loved Fidel Castro.  It's better than hate, right?

Re: A Chilling Snapshot of Partisanship

I think that's it's time to put your cards on the table.
You've been shown two polls showing what I would like to discuss.
After showing that you don't know what the economist is, you suddenlly don't understand why it would alarm someone that a significant portion of the population has a favorable opinion of a murdering strongman.
Then you make a laughable attempt to change the subject to Castro.

Admit it. You have no interest in discussing the topic, and don't want us to discuss it either. So, you  are just out on a morning troll.

I realize that it must be embarrassing to see that over a third of your fellow Trump voters hold this view, but it is what it is.
I think that it's just pure partisanship rather than an endorsement. I'm sure that if Trump suddenly spoke in favor of Broccoli, it's popularity among a certain group would rise.

What are you rambling on about? I know exactly what The Economist is, it's a British tabloid, and you still haven't posted the poll, you've only posted left-wing sources talking about it.  Please post the poll, I want to read it.

Re: A Chilling Snapshot of Partisanship

Sorry, but you have no idea of what the Economist is.
Your ignorance is appalling.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Economist

AND, I posted links to both polls. Simply go to the politico article I linked and there is a link to the poll.
You can do it.

You are just trolling.

Hey, I get  that the poll is embarrassing, but, be an adult. You are just just trying to disrupt the thread.

Re: A Chilling Snapshot of Partisanship

So, what if anything does it mean that 37% of Trump voters have a favorable impression of Vladimir Putin?
