Mr. Trump may officially be president-elect, but just because you are a month from becoming the leader of the free world doesn’t mean you should let a slight go unanswered.
Former President Bill Clinton told a reporter from The Record-Review, a weekly newspaper serving the towns of Bedford and Pound Ridge in New York, that Mr. Trump “doesn’t know much.”
That was too much for Mr. Trump, who took to Twitter to respond.
Trump strikes back at Bill Clinton
Of course, Donald Trump fighting with someone on Twitter is hardly new. In fact, it's his signature move.
Trump has had highly personal, and sometimes crude fights with Jeb, Cruz, Rubio, Carson, Megyn Kelly, the NYT,,,,,,,,
He has coined cute little nicknames, "little Marco", "The failing NYT".
Before "Crooked Hilary", there was "Crooked Ted".
I viewed these little feud s as terribly unfortunate gaffes. I was wrong. These petulant little rants are an effective part of the Trump strategy. They are the oxygen that he breathes. Donald makes politics highly personal, and highly combative.
And a certain segment of the population connects with that, loves that. They aren't interested in complex policy ideas. They want the WWF of politics. Just watch an evening on fox, or go to a site such as Legal Insurrection, and you will see a highly emotional narrative driven by personalities rather than policy.
They have figured out that no one wants to talk at length about healthcare or foreign policy. No, people want to rant about Michael Moore, or some random woman who yelled at an elector. They like the zingers and the put downs, chanting "lock her up".
They want the drama.
I am guessing that we have crossed the rubicon to a new age of campaigning.

Agree. Never did I ever think a president-elect of his ilk would actually become the head of the free world. I don't like thinking what the next four years will bring.
