Yes, it's tempting to engage in those reflexes to critique, mock or dismiss everything that rubs one the wrong way. I, too, indulged — and sometimes still do - but it's ultimately mean-spirited and unsatisfying.
We live in a time in which decent and otherwise sensible people are surrendering too easily to the hectoring of morons or extremists.

As soon as our government engages in ANY action that prohibits people for free exercise (or NOT) of their religious beliefs then I will care, but this notion of PC Christmas always leaves me blank. Christians ARE free to do and believe what they want. Because their religion cannot attract the same loyal following they seem to want to cry about it. It is the failing of the church, its message, and the people within it to bring more into their flock. It is NOT because of PC that there is any decline in the Church.

From my perspective, 'politically correct' is a theory prosthelitized and projected by those among us that are most incorrect -- politicians and their propagandists.
