Report: Truck drives into crowded Christmas market in Berlin
A truck plowed into a crowded Christmas market in Berlin on Monday causing multiple injuries and possibly one fatality, according to German media.Both the Berliner Zeitung newspaper and the Berliner Morgenpost reported the truck ran into the market outside the landmark Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church on Monday evening.A photo posted by the Morgenpost showed damaged tables and stalls.
The Berliner Zeitung said police believed there to be multiple injuries, but police couldn't immediately be reached to confirm.A policewoman reportedly told German media outlet Bild that there was at least one fatality.Both newspapers reported it wasn't immediately clear whether the incident was an accident or some kind of an attack on the market.
“We hold these truths to be self-evident,” former vice president Biden said during a campaign event in Texas on Monday. "All men and women created by — you know, you know, the thing.”

Now reporting 9 people dead and from early reports the driver was going about 40 mph and didn't slow down. Appears to be a terror act like what happened in Nice last year.

What an awful thing. I've been to that area of Berlin before.
So nice, and with such wonderful people. 
We live in a time in which decent and otherwise sensible people are surrendering too easily to the hectoring of morons or extremists.

German counter-terrorism forces are quite well respected.
Dealing with terrorism in a free society is a monumentally difficult effort.
Yea, it's a state of war. That statement really doesn't convey a strategy, however, and is thus not really helpful..
