I did not want to put this in Politics, National, or International News, Economics, or any specific area as predictions might encompass any or all of these.
Just wanted to see what people think. Perhaps we can check back at the end of the year and see (BTW, did we have one from last year to "fact check" the predictions??)

Trump will end 2017 with a lower approval rating than Obama had at the same point in his presidency.
FBI Director Comey will resign.
Trump will get all of his cabinet picks approved by Congress.
Someone in the Trump family will be indicted.
The US will not commit more troops to Syria.
China, and North Korea will precipitate a crisis for the new President.
Energy Secretary Rick Perry will challenge NYT columnist Thomas Friedman on Dancing with the Stars, with the fate of the Dakota Pipeline as the prize. It will be held at Trump's Mar-a-lago Club in Florida.

I predict I will be one year older and life will go on.
Despite the fact that Trump will be president.

The Supreme Court will end 2017 the way it starts with only eight justices.

Given how the Republicans treated the nomination process for Garland, I believe that could well be the case. And, maybe it is a good thing. Even the R-tribe made the case that it was OK just to have 8 justices, Well then, maybe they will get their wish. As the saying goes, "be careful of what you wish for".
I have not given a lot of thought to my 2017 predictions yet, but hope to get something down in writing in the next
couple of weeks.

Am I right in assuming that supreme court nominations can still be filibustered?

SCOTUS nominations cannot be filibustered. This was due to a rule Harry Reid pushed through a few years ago to keep GOP Senators from holding back nominees from an up or down vote.

Here is one that just crossed my mind....
After winning another college football national championship, Nick Saban is drawn back into the NFL with a 10 million dollar a year contract with the Los Angeles Rams
