It's the Christmas season and Santa is watching you guys.

Let's be nice to one another.

I haven't done anything wrong.

We live in a time in which decent and otherwise sensible people are surrendering too easily to the hectoring of morons or extremists.

Re: Records: Too many votes in 37% of Detroit’s precincts

Anyway, we have the suggestion that 0.16% of the votes cast in an area carried by a candidate by a 95-3 margin are not valid.
OK.

But we ignore information from both the CIA and NSA that a foreign power has meddled in the election.
That about it?

Re: Records: Too many votes in 37% of Detroit’s precincts

One important correction, Common.  If you have been following posts on this topic, I said I was not a fan of the electoral college for many years .......... long before this election.  It has occurred 5 times throughout our history that the candidate who won the popular vote did not win the election.  I'm simply not a supporter of the system, and if Donald Trump won the popular vote and not the electoral vote, I would feel the same way.

I started a thread under the 'Issues Only' sub-forum entitled "Time to Jettison the Electoral College".  There were 23 responses contributing to the discussion, but you chose not to participate.  You have your reasons and that's ok with me, but you will notice I started the thread listing the presidents that didn't win the election but won the electoral vote.  I would like to hear your thoughts on why you believe the electoral college syatem is a good idea for a functioning democratic society.

As far as the Detroit stuff you cited, I say fine, fix the problem and while we are at it, I think it's just as important (more important, in my opinion) to get to the bottom of the contention that foreign governments have the technological ability to screw with our democracy.
