And our Representative in congress, Scott Perry is a member. This is going to be a good 4 years for the 2nd Amendment. But wait I am sure there will some "poll" that show people are not happy about this.
House Republicans Form Second Amendment Caucus
A group of House Republicans formed the Congressional Second Amendment Caucus on Thursday. The group, headed by Rep. Thomas Massie (R., Ky.), said the caucus plans to draft and sponsor pro-gun legislation in the upcoming Congress
.“Caucus members will lead efforts in the House of Representatives to pass meaningful firearms legislation and protect Americans against infringements of the Second Amendment,” the group said in a statement.
Massie said the election of Donald Trump and Republican majorities in both houses of Congress were the catalyst for the formation of the caucus.
The inaugural members of the caucus are Republican Reps. Jeff Duncan (S.C.), Ted Yoho (Fla.), Brian Babin (Texas), Paul Gosar (Ariz.), Mark Meadows (N.C.), Ken Buck (Colo.), Alex Mooney (W.Va.), Justin Amash (Mich.), Jody Hice (Ga.), Dave Brat (Va.), Warren Davidson (Ohio), Scott Perry (Pa.), and James Comer (Ky.).

Wow. And the right to own guns was in such peril!!
Well, it will distract the angry people from the fact that their jobs aren't coming back from China/

Wow, all except for Comer are also members of the so-called 'freedom caucus'. The 'freedom caucus' was formed during a retreat in Hershey, PA in early 2015. It is a tea party group of conservative, obstructionist, republican representatives that felt they would garner strength by attracting enough members to pledge allegiance to their radically conservative agenda and set policy in the federal house. They were unsuccessful in meeting that goal. Preserving, strengthening, and promoting gun ownership was one of their primary considerations.
Maybe this same group of obstructionist representatives feel it is necessary to come up with a new name for their clique in order to attract more people. Since we already have a second amendment that protects essential gun rights that would take another amendment to override, the president elect seems to be a gun nut, and no real threat to gun rights, such as the instilled, made up conspiracy theories with no basis in fact, it seems that this 'second amendment caucus' is just another way for these people to coddle up to groups like the NRA to finance their re-election. This is nothing more than another Granfalloon invented by a bunch of do-nothing obstructionist bozos that are unwilling or mentally unable to face up to and try to solve the real problems that exist in our country.

So, what exactly is the point of this thing?
When the Sandy Hook massacre occurred, we couldn't do anything to help americans be safe from criminals and lunatics with guns.
When Democrats were at the height of their power we couldn't do anything to help Americans be safe from criminals and lunatics with guns.
So, now, with Democratics much diminished, we suddenly need a second amendment caucus to guard against a nonexistent threat.
Excuse me, common, but I smell a rat. Is it possible that certain lawmakers just want to perpetuate the myth that the wolf is at the door, so to speak? Create a sense of imminent threat in order to take attention from the real problems that the People face, and the lawmakers won't address.
Guns are the ultimate shiny object, used to distract weak minds.

Let's be clear about what the "2nd Amendment Caucus" really is.
It's a marketing arm of Republican majority in congress.
And on top of that, there mission statement doesn't make any sense.
“Caucus members will lead efforts in the House of Representatives to pass meaningful firearms legislation and protect Americans against infringements of the Second Amendment,”
It's always been my understanding that 2nd amendment absolutists are just that. ".....the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed."
So what "meaningful" legislation could be passed by this caucus?
My guess is that the real intent of this caucus is to be a direct link between the congress and the gun lobby.

I wonder how the Caucus will observe the fourth anniversary of the Sandy Hook massacre.
A "Tommy Guns for Tots" bill, perhaps?
You know, to kick off those "four good years for the second amendment " we are looking so forward to.
