Everyone is talking in black and white and we're living in a very gray world.
The biggest thing that we'll see from a trade perspective is that it is likely that the TPP will not be passed anytime soon.
NAFTA may see some tweaks. But remember this:
America's biggest trading partner is the EU. The second biggest is Canada. Third is China and Mexico comes in fourth.
And in terms of a trade deficit, the EU, China, Japan, and Germany are ahead of our deficit with Mexico.
We're not going to get into a trade war with the EU, Japan, and Germany and if we did get into one with China, there would be a major financial meltdown around the world.
The anti free trade argument got Trump elected. But becoming an isolationist country isn't going to do anyone good. What's the point of building a bunch of new factories ain't going to do anyone any good if we can't sell stuff around the world.
