My sincere appreciation to all those who served their country.
As one who did not serve in the military I have struggled to find ways to express gratitude which do no seem hollow.
There is an organization here that seeks to help veterans struggling with homelessness. I decided to support them. Doesn't make me a great guy. It's just a very small, but I hope meaningful thing to do.
We live in a time in which decent and otherwise sensible people are surrendering too easily to the hectoring of morons or extremists.

As a veteran I salute all those who chose to serve !
That said, I have long felt that there should be SOME form of obligatory service that EVERYONE does for their country. It would NOT have to be military service - that would just be one option. All of us need to give back to our great nation. We owe so much just for being a part of it.

If more people did small and meaningful things like this, as a country we would be in a much better position.
