Nationwide Protests

While it is true that President Trump won the election, it is still that fact that the majority of Americans did not vote for him. I believe that is the frustration we are seeing venting across the country. Hopefully most of those protests will remain non-violent. It IS a reminder to the new POTUS that we still have a widely divided nation and part of his responsibility is to try to mend the divide.

Mr Trump, besides handling all the other things that face a President day to day has to concentrate on this divide IF we truly wants to Make America Great Again.

Hoping he understands this and can succeed !

Re: Nationwide Protests

I love watching the Foxbots and Trumpers condemn the protests.
Fox News referred to the protests as "Tantrums".
Newt Gingrich refered to his fellow citizens as "Whining, sniveling cowards". Yea he'll represent all of the people.
Some even calling protestors "unAmerican".

(Of course, Their outrage was noticably absent during the birth of the Teaparty movement)

I guess that they never read this;

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.

I wish that people who claim to love this country actually knew something about it.

Get energized!!!

We live in a time in which decent and otherwise sensible people are surrendering too easily to the hectoring of morons or extremists.

Re: Nationwide Protests

I give it about a week and most will be over.

The divide, however,  will not be over and till we all understand it and find a path forward we will remain a divided nation.

I don't ever remember an election where there were massive protests AFTER the election over the selected candidate -- at least not like these. Words are hard to take back and I think we are seeing a lot of the implications of that. Hopefully time, patience, and understanding of all will prevail. We shall see.

BTW, there were bad words thrown out on BOTH sides. Let's understand that also.
