And Who Said This?

"If I were to run, I'd run as a Republican.  They're the dumbest group of voters in the country.  They believe anything on Fox News.  I could lie and they'd still eat it up.  I bet my numbers would be terrific."

Donald Trump
People Magazine, 1998

Re: And Who Said This?

Trump will be like a deer in the headlights when he truly understands the time and responsibility that is now on his shoulders. I wish him well, but worry that this is really not really his "schtick". It is nothing like being a CEO and people doing your bidding. Like I said, however, we all need to wish him well in being in charge of our Nation. We need to pray for him AND US(A) !

It's a time honored truth.
Everyone looks smarter standing on the outside throwing rocks.
Now, he stands in the arena.
When the wall doesn't get built, when all of the coal mining jobs don't come back,,,,,,,
The ignorant will discover that this governing thing is harder than it seems.
Or, perhaps they will just conclude that Trump has joined the "rigged" system.

Re: And Who Said This?

Sooner or later the reality of the situation will set in for Drumpf and his supporters. All the big talk 'don't mean doodelysquat' (thank you granny from Josie Wales) now. Let's see what he can get done with the support of both houses of congress. Let's hope they don't undo a lot of good things and replace them with regressive and repressive edicts. Let's hope his rag-tag group of surrogates turn away from their bullying, dismissive, insults and become more accepting of differing points of view. Let's hope Drumpf becomes more diplomatic in dealing with our international allies and enemies alike. Let's hope he isn't seriously considering building a wall. Let's hope he and his advisors are more fiscally responsible than they have demonstrated thus far. Let's hope he submits reasonable judges for the Supreme Court. Let's hope he doesn't destroy reasonable discourse in the capital. Let's hope he runs his administration better than he has run many of his business enterprises.

All we have is hope.

Re: And Who Said This?

Hope begins in the dark, the stubborn hope that if you just show up and try to do the right thing, the dawn will come. You wait and watch and work: You don't give up.
