Early Voting

According to various reports over 33 million Americans had already voted as of Friday.

What effect, if any, does early voting have on the outcome of the race?
What is good, and what is problematic about early voting, if anything?

We live in a time in which decent and otherwise sensible people are surrendering too easily to the hectoring of morons or extremists.

Re: Early Voting

I'm puzzled by today's SCOTUS determination that allows volunteers to collect early voting ballots in Arizona and pass them on to election officials.  Where are these early voters casting their ballots that gives access to them to non-official election officials?  An explanation, someone.

To answer your question, Goose, if one regularly tunes in to CNN & MSNBC as I have in recent weeks,  I get the impression that by their constant discussions on how many early voted and where some viewers might figure why bother voting if it seems the election is already determined.  I see no problems with early voting as long as officails do not contiuously release how many and where.
