Re: Trump Blows it. Again

To launch an on-line streaming service, you have to know that you're going to be able to get a significant number of consistent subscribers. Otherwise, you're just going to end up like Sarah Palin TV, that went out of business in under a year.

Hell, even Glenn Beck, who has a pretty decent following had to turn to the cable and dish providers to keep his endeavor afloat.

Personally, I don't know why Trump would want to go into the cable news business.

Cable news is over-saturated as it is.
All cable news ratings go down significantly after an election
Cord cutting (particularly by young people) is significantly hurting cable subscribership
Sean Hannity ain't going to come cheap
Nobody likes a loser and once Trump loses this race, his brand will be tarnished and I don't think his subscribers/ratings will be anywhere close to what he thinks it will be
Sponsorship will be hard to come by because companies aren't going to want to attach their names to shows that will focus on racism, xenophobia, and other alt-right pablum.

You're right Lager. The first thing that came to my mind also as I read the article was Sarah Palin's failed attempt.

Maybe Donald J. Trump, author of The Art of The Deal, the man behind Celebrity Apprentice, , the guy with hundreds and hundreds of really classy real estate holdings around the world, the guy that brought us Trump steaks, water, ties, & shirts, the educator that started Trump University, the developer that brought us Trump Casino and Trump Taj Mahal, the guy that proclaims that he's "very smart" for failing to pay taxes, the entrepreneur that doesn't pay his contractors and sues his partners, and is the self proclaimed "master of debt" can make it work with millions and millions of subscribers, big league contributors like Rudy Giulliani, Newt Gingerich, Jeff Sessions, & Ben Carson, and first class entertainment from celebs like Stephen Baldwin, Charlie Sheen, Tila Tequila, Willie Robertson, and 'The Motor City Madman' Ted Nugent, if anyone can make this enterprise a huuuuge success, it's Donald J. Trump.

Otherwise it will be another giant tax deduction for this major scofflaw.

Re: Trump Blows it. Again

As Dandy Don Meredith would say, "Turn out the lights, the party's over."

For me, it's time to focus on holding Clinton's feet to the fire and make her follow through with the progressive planks nailed to the party platform.  A Democratic congress and a progressively-minded Supreme Court majority would help.

So some thoughts on that:

There's no doubt on my mind that Clinton will win the election. There is also no doubt in my mind that on November 9th, the Republicans and their friends on the right will say that Hillary is a fluke president with no mandate because the only reason she won was because her opponent was the worst major party nominee in the history of the United States.

Now I think there's a decent chance the Dems could retake the Senate. But I don't see them getting anywhere close to a filibuster proof majority.

And while I think the House will see some Dem gains, I don't see them taking the majority in the House.

Remember, few people are clamoring for a Hillary presidency. She's just a far better option than Trump and the alt-right minions that could follow him into the Senate and House.

So at the end of the day, we'll still see a heavily gridlocked federal government. There will be no major progressive legislation passed anytime soon and Hillary will need to govern as a centrist if she hopes to move anything forward.

Re: Trump Blows it. Again

In my mind, no matter how many votes Hilliary Clinton receives on November 8th, if she doesn't take down enough Republicans to change the House & Senate she'll have no better chance of getting her agenda passed than Barack Obama did.

And another round of "She's not my president"?
