West Palm Beach

Happy to hear recent news report that WPB where family live has been spared the worst of Matthew.  Same for Miami & Ft. Lauderdale.  Further up the coast by morning will far different story with storm surges 15' to 20' high in some lower lying areas.  My family all took off for Sarasota on Tuesday.

Re: West Palm Beach

Hurricane Matthew continues its devastating romp up the coast of Florida. Even though it has not actually made landfall, it is raising havoc with all the coastal towns. Come high tide later today along with the winds the surges and rainfall will create major problems for water supplies, sewer facilities, and foundations.

We spend a couple months in St Augustine Beach every winter for the last couple of years and it is right in the projected path.

May all stay safe during this powerful storm.

Re: West Palm Beach

I have a friend who trains and handles search and rescue dogs for FEMA.

As the wise evacuate he is headed the opposite direction, to put his life and the life of his canine partner on the line to search for the fools who for whatever reason refused to follow the order.  The are in SC right now awaiting the final order.
