I see Stupid People

Donald Trump's campaign nearly imploded after the DNC Convention when he went crazy, and attacked a gold star family, among a bunch of other really crazy shiite.
Enter Kellyanne Conway. Say what you want, but she is a competent person who rights the ship and gets Trump to look sane and brings him to within a whisker of the Presidency.

Well, now the Good old Boys, Gingrich, Ailes, Christie, Giulianni, and now Huckaboo are taking over.
What's the strategy? To be bad as I wanna be.
They are driving the clown car into the ditch.

Giulliani says to go after the Clinton affairs, then when confronted with his own infidelity claims that everybody has affairs. Christie congratulates Trump for stiffing us on taxes. Gingrich goes after the beauty pageant contestant. The dummies are back in charge.
It's kinda funny, the most competent adviser that this misogynist has is a woman. And the boys are gonna sabotage her.

Huckabee says 'Trump's gotta be Trump' in final weeks of campaign

The former governor said that Trump has gotten to where is now "by being the most disruptive candidate we've ever seen."

"When he says certain things it gets under the skin of the media, liberals, and the Republican establishment," he said.

I guess that they'd rather get under the skin of the establishment than win, or are we back to seeking 120% of the angry white male vote as our victory strategy?

We live in a time in which decent and otherwise sensible people are surrendering too easily to the hectoring of morons or extremists.

Re: I see Stupid People

Just to add to the "list of stupid people" .... New Hampshire GOP Sen. Kelly Ayotte said during a debate on Monday that she would "absolutely" point to Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump as a role model for a child.

To be fair, she later backtracked on that statement !

I have never been more depressed about the state of the Republican Party than I am now.

Watching Giuliiani, Newt, Christie so gleefully prostitute themselves is particularly discouraging.

Re: I see Stupid People

The Washington Post's Michael Gerson;

"
The ascendance of people such as Gingrich, Giuliani and Trump in the Republican Party, from one perspective, is succeeding. A campaign of shouting, apocalyptic, white men has undeniably appealed to white men. A recent Post-ABC News poll found Trump up 40 points against Hillary Clinton in this category. Up nearly 60 points among white men with no college degree. These results are remarkable, indicating both the limits of Clinton as a candidate and the fury in portions of middle-class and blue-collar America.

If the United States is truly in the midst of a wave election, fed by the fears and discontent of white males, it will have enormous consequences in a country that has moved considerably in the direction of diversity, tolerance and inclusion. A very real culture war will be in full swing, not between social conservatives and social liberals, but between a movement of white economic and cultural grievances and a party of social elites and ascendant minorities.

This struggle — rooted in race and class — would be far more bitter than the old culture war of ideas".

True,

But the problem with many of the people feeling left out is although Trump promises things will change for them, the reality is that it will not. Most of the jobs lost are not coming back in the same form. Industrialization and mechanization are replacing the old high-paying blue collar jobs. Just look at any of the modern factories in the US today. You see robots and machines and few people.

Further some of the things Trump is proposing has a high likelihood of destabilizing the markets and that alone will take a toll across the board, not just on the rich or poor. Most people today (or their employers) depend on the markets for their retirement plans and 401Ks (not to mention institutional investors including pension plans, universities, insurance groups.... the list goes on and on).

Re: I see Stupid People

Will this election be determined by angry, white men who sit in bars at the fringe of their communities drinking lite beers and complaining about everything and everybody?  Are they really so naïve to believe a boorish, blathering, bigoted, loud-mouthed maniac who promises them their world will improve 100% if they vote for him?  We can only hope the rest of us get out there and VOTE!
