Property Tax Independence Act - threatening letter

PCTA/SETRC: Please see the message below.  Please forward and distribute this as you see fit. David

PLEASE SHARE AS WIDELY AS POSSIBLE.

This will be a lengthy read but it is urgent that you PLEASE take the time to review all of it.  It vividly demonstrates the arrogance of unethical elected officials as they attempt to silence good, decent citizens. I’m certain that most of you are aware of the efforts of Dean Klopp and his band of property tax warriors to canvass Senator Rob Teplitz’s (D-15, Dauphin, Perry) district to educate the Senator’s constituents about the Property Tax Independence Act and to tell them that Senator Teplitz opposes this vital legislation so he can keep his keep his special interest contributors – especially the teacher’s union that has contributed more than $105,000 to his campaigns – fat and happy.

It seems that Senator Teplitz and Jay Costa, the Senate Minority Leader and Teplitz’s boss, didn’t appreciate the efforts of Dean’s team and on August 29 sent Dean a threatening letter on Senator Costa’s letterhead demanding that he abandon his activities.  The letter reeks of official oppression and misuse of government resources and is a blatant attempt to bully Dean and his team in an attempt to deny them their First Amendment rights of free speech and freedom of assembly.

The letter is here: http://www.ptcc.us/pdf/Costa_letter_to_Dean_091416.pdf Dean’s attorney issued a scathing response to Senator Costa and his minions to inform them that that Dean and his team reject their intimidation tactics and will continue to spread the word of SB 76 to the taxpayers of Senator Teplitz’s district.

That letter is here: http://www.ptcc.us/pdf/Smith_response_to_Costa_091416.pdf Apparently Senator Teplitz and Senator Costa are concerned about the upcoming November election and the possibility of Senator Teplitz losing his seat and it appears that they are attempting to beat Dean and his team into submission.

This tactic by these little tin gods demonstrates their supreme arrogance and the unscrupulous, unethical, and possibly illegal tactics they will pursue to maintain their power, control, and wealth. This is a wake-up call to all citizens of Pennsylvania and especially to the residents of Senator Teplitz’s district.  SENATOR TEPLITZ MUST BE DEFEATED IN NOVEMBER.

The tactics used by these bullies to silence and intimidate decent citizens is their testimony to their lack of integrity and unsuitability for their office.  Please do all you can to help defeat this man in November.

“We hold these truths to be self-evident,”  former vice president Biden said during a campaign event in Texas on Monday. "All men and women created by — you know, you know, the thing.”

Re: Property Tax Independence Act - threatening letter

I would be more curious to see an explanation of the "act", and a discussion of the benefits and costs of such a bill, rather than allegations of unethical behavior and name-calling.

We live in a time in which decent and otherwise sensible people are surrendering too easily to the hectoring of morons or extremists.
