Above and beyond the call of duty. A true act of kindness!
People who matter: Andrew Shaffer
The Northern York County Regional Police officer responded to a Dover home where a man had collapsed while mowing his lawn. Tragically, the man died of cardiac arrest. Later that evening, after his shift, Officer Shaffer returned to the home and finished mowing the grass for the family. No one asked him to. He didn't have to. He sought no recognition for his good dead. Wow. Just ... wow. That's an awesome act of kindness by this young officer.

Saw the article in the paper also.
Makes one proud of the people who serve selflessly.

I suspect there are many acts of kindness provided by not only police officers but other providers and they never get into a newspaper or a tv coverage. His did and he's been lauded for it.

Here's another heart-warming story--in York. The greeter at Lowe's who I've talked to many times or asked where to find a product in the store will be flown to CA to be fitted for a new wheel chair thanks to people who started a gofundme account to buy him a new wheel chair. Chris was born with cerebral palsy.

Thanks for post!
Here is a bit more info about this story:
He is a super nice guy. Knows the store from top to bottom!
Lowe's greeter gets help to buy new wheelchair
The first thing customers usually see when they enter the Lowe's in Springettsbury Township is Chris Veseth's smile. But Thursday night, those same customers brought Veseth, who was born with cerebral palsy, to tears. That's when the greeter at the home improvement chain found out that people who he has helped over 17 years, had helped him."The wonderful thing about Chris is, he treats everyone the same.
Whether he has just met you, or he has known you all of his life, " said co-worker Dot Caloia, who helped Veseth set up a GoFundMe account to help him purchase a new wheelchair. What neither of them expected was the kindness of people who, for the most part, only knew him from the few moments of interaction upon entering the store.
