Sheesh . . . Scott's threatening to actually commit suicide rather than vote for Clinton.
I guess he'd rather commit political suicide and vote for Drumpf.
Oh . . . I forgot . . . He promised that he'd only serve one term anyhow.
'I'll eat rat poison first': Why some Pa. lawmakers won't vote for Hillary
No matter the missteps that Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump has made the past week, Sen. Scott Wagner, R-York, said he isn't wavering in his support.
"Well, I'm not going to vote for Hillary and I'm not going to not vote so I'm going to vote for Donald Trump," Wagner said Thursday. His response echoed what several other GOP lawmakers in the state legislature said when asked whether they were backing off their support after a difficult week for Trump.
Just over the past few days, Trump has refused to withdraw his criticism of the family of a Muslim soldier who lost his life in combat in 2004. He then Tuesday refused to endorse Sen. John McCain and Speaker Paul Ryan – both endorsed him after much consideration but have continued to be critical of his more outlandish stances and statements. He also drew criticism for his comment that Harrisburg from overhead looked like a war zone.
Still, legislators said they remain aligned behind Trump, even while many in national politics retreat in the wake of some of his recent comments.
Rep. Mike Vereb, R-Montgomery, said the withdrawal of support from Washington lawmakers is a product of a very different type of political game.
"A lot of federal legislators are looking to do one thing and that's protecting their own hide," Vereb said. "People that are walking away, weren't with him to begin with."
He said that while he might disagree with some of the things Trump has said, politics is a "contact sport" and those who have renounced the candidate are merely "taking their ball and going home."
Rep. Sheryl Delozier, R-Cumberland, said she's similarly firm in her support.
"At this point, I know I do not support Hillary Clinton," Delozier said. And though she dislikes some of the things he has said, "Trump is the Republican candidate ... so my position is the same as it was, watching and waiting to see if he can lead the country."
Delozier said she can't guess what's in the hearts and minds of those party faithful who withdrew support, saying only that something Trump said must have hit home, either in their district or personally.
Gov. Wolf, Sen. Casey blast Trump's Harrisburg insult, tout Clinton's jobs plan
Though many see the latest boat-rocking as more problematic than usual with the election approaching, Delozier is unfazed.
"There's a lot of time between now and then that he can prove that he can do the job," she said.
Wagner also expressed disappointment with some of Trump's remarks, echoing some of the hypotheses that Trump's camp is unable to rein the candidate in.
"I'm disappointed in some of the things that he is saying," Wagner said. "Either he's getting bad advice from someone or he's not taking any advice from people."
When asked if future controversial statements from Trump could erode his support, Wagner doubled down: "I'm not walking in and voting for Hillary. I'll start my car and leave the garage door down in my house before I do that. I'll eat rat poison first. I'm not voting for Hillary."
Jeez Scott, you could have said something like "let them eat cake"

I like Scott Wagner. He actually does his job well in representing us, and cares about his duties. I really don't care who he votes for. I wouldn't even care if he voted for Hillary.

What would you say are Wagner's biggest accomplishments thus far ?

Full disclosure: Retired Rep. Ron Miller (R-93) is a personal friend--unlikely as it might have seemed decades ago when we were at odds potlitically. Sitting with his mother watching the poll numbers come in as Scott Wagner defeated him was one of the tougher nights of my life.
So, I was not a Scott Wagner fan from the git-go. His campaign consisted of pizzing into the Harrisburg insider sandbox. He then wonderinf why the dampened players did not invite him to join them after his election.
Nevertheless, he has accomplished this: He has been the sand in Tom Wolf's bathing suit to such a degree that we have been spared the massive increases in BOTH the personal income tax and sales tax which the Governor had sought in his first (FY 2015-2016t) budget. While there was some smoke and mirrors involved with this year's budget the tax-hungry wolf has been kept from our door. (bad pun, ja vell).
Next spring thank Scott Wagner that you still multiply taxable income by .0307, not higher. And thank him if you need veterinary medicine, nursing home care, or a funeral for a loved one, because these are all items which Wolf originally intended to make subject to AT LEAST a 6% sales tax. With the average price of a Funeral being $12,000.00 that would have been an additional $720..00.
Yeah, my feelings about Scott Wagner have changed, just as my feelings about Ron Miller evolved over time.
Scott Wagner's write in campaign sent shock waves across the GOP-Establishment, and, frankly, may have been some of the inspiraiton for Donald Trump's candidacy. The two seem to be alter-egos or evil twins, take your pick.

I voted for him thinking that we would see something different in a politician, but overall I look at him pretty much like other politicians as of now. I would certainly not give him any primary credit for stopping Wolf's budget as there were plenty others doing that as well. He has not been horrible, but I would love to see someone really break the mold of the typical R vs D mold. I still have to see something of real value that he has accomplished. But, that is just me.

Obviously, I didn't vote for him. And I've sometimes posted that he represents "the best government waste money can buy" as a play on words because of the "millionaire trashman" campaigns ads.
But he has grown on me; his election has given the GOP-E a well deserved shaking up. I doubt that he will ever be Harrisburg insider; and from what I've seen of most of that crowd, that really would be for the best.
