Comparing the RNC vs DNC Conventions
Without getting into specifics, but simply evaluating the general tone of each presentation, I would say the DNC convention was better organized and was more positive and uplifting. The RNC show seemed more of a downer, depressing, angry, and pessimistic.
I was actually a bit surprised since organizing D-Tribe people is usually like trying to herd butterflies.
It's only my opinion and perception. How about you fellow exchangers?

The DNC was head and shoulders above the RNC in organization and presentation.
They also had much greater "starpower" in terms of political, business, and military figures speaking.
And then there was the tone. The dems looked around and saw a shining city on a hill. The R's see a disaster movie. I finished watching the DNC and felt like "America Baby!". Or as the Prez said, "We don't fear the future. We shape it".
Also, whether you agree with the vision or not, you have to agree that the dems actually told you what they are about, and want to do. Yea, they took their digs at the Donald, but only in terms of what he wanted to do.
The R's? Well, all I know about them from the RNC is that they hate Hillary. On their "Make America Work Again" night, "work" was actually the 10th most frequently uttered word from the podium. (Yea, the NYT had a guy keep track).
"Hillary", and "Clinton" came in #1 and #2.
I mean, are you going to vote for a President because he wants to "lock up" a former sec of State? Some might find that emotionally satisfying, but it's really irrelevant to my kids' future.

We live in a time in which decent and otherwise sensible people are surrendering too easily to the hectoring of morons or extremists.

I'll go with the Dems. Keeping with my methodology in rating these conventions, both the Dems and the Repubs had red, white, and blue balloon drops as the culminating display at the end of the festivities. Both parties dropped about the same amount of debris from the ceiling of the respective sports arenas where their conventions were held. The tie breaker, which tipped the scales in the favor of one party over the other, was that the balloons, confetti, and streamers dropped by the Dems was all certified biodegradable and environmentally friendly.
So, by my standards, the Democratic Convention wins the prize. Better luck next time you bunch of Republican polluters and climate change deniers.
