Re: Donald Trump encourages Russia to hack Hillary Clinton

Trump -- an honest madman ! ? ! ?

Please enlighten me with some real life examples of his honesty.

He's pretty much got the madman thing down pat.

Good link.
One of the truly remarkable things about this - or any - political season is that Trump has been able to brand himself as "Telling it like it is".
In reality, the man makes up reality as he goes.  He's a serial liar packaged and sold as a straight talker.
Go figure.

As I said earlier, the electorate in many senses bothers me just as much as Trump.

Seriously, Trump may be mentally ill.  This has nothing to do with politics, but instead with something rongone posted about PND.

So, our choice appears to be between an honest madman and a sane crook.

I'm inclined to choose honesty over sanity.

As I have said many times, Hillary is not my first, second, or 10th choice.

But she knows government. She knows world affairs. She had a masterful grip on the issues confronting us, both foreign and domestic.

From day 1 of his campaign, Donald Trump hasn't come close to a coherent policy position. And when he does trip over one, he usually backtracks from it within 48 hours.

I'll take experience over a novelty every day of the week.

Re: Donald Trump encourages Russia to hack Hillary Clinton

When I look at polls in which Trump does well on issues of "honesty", or being "Straight forward", I have scratched my head in amazement. The factual record is the factual record, after all. And even a cursory review of that record is damning of Trump in the extreme.

So, how does one explain it? I can only conclude that many folks have confused honesty with bluntness.
Donald Trump speaks in a blunt and direct manner. He projects strength, and has a way of reducing hideously complex issues to simple bromides. He presents a victim  (you), and a villain (Mexicans, china, stupid polticians, women hung up on political correctness, the press, muslims) all wrapped up in a neat package.

It seems to me that some people are soothed by the simple, blunt talk to the point of not recognizing that it is blunt and simple nonsense.

We live in a time in which decent and otherwise sensible people are surrendering too easily to the hectoring of morons or extremists.
