Re: DNC Thread

Speaking of Corey Booker, I understand he was on the 'short list' as a VP nominee.  From my point of view, I wish Clinton would have chosen him.  Were any of you thinking the same thing?

Re: DNC Thread

Booker would have been a fine choice. But I think he can do more as a Senator and still be a good POTUS candidate down the road.

But I think Kaine was the best option for Hillary right now.

Re: DNC Thread

Night 2 is upon us.  From looking at the speakers for this evening, I see two interesting things to watch.  Bill Clinton will give his speech tonight, so that will be interesting.

The second thing to watch will be the mothers of black men killed by police officers.  It will be interesting to hear the tone they take.  This could be controversial, but I would imagine the Dems vetted the speeches to make sure they didn't say anything that would turn off moderate voters.

Re: DNC Thread

I was at the Rev's game tonight so by time I was back only got to see Bill Clinton's speech which is really the only one I wanted to hear anyway.

It was a rolling documentary of Hillary's life with Bill. At first it was slow moving but humanized the woman many do not like and painted her in a perhaps different light. It culminated in the reasons Hillary is the only choice for POTUS in 2016. It was not a fire and brimstone speech but rather a skillfully crafted speech on a night that is all about Hillary.

On a side note, does anyone think Bill Clinton perhaps has the early signs of Parkinson's disease ?

Re: DNC Thread

I didn't pick up on it but the trembling in one of Bill Clinton's hands was mentioned by Brian Williams on MSNBC.

Re: DNC Thread

Clinton's speech was Clinton-esque. Meaning it was very well done.

I flipped over to Fox right after Clinton's speech and Brit Hume and Chris Wallace were literally gushing over it. "He still has his fastball.", is how Hume described.

Otherwise I missed most of last night. The part where Bernie's brother cast his vote as a delegate practically in tears, causing Bernie to well up, was probably the most touching moment of either convention.

The Sanders delegates who walked out however, are chumps. And good on the Dems for having alternative delegates at the ready to step into their seats.

One final note. I think I said in the RNC thread that I expected the production value, tone, and flow of the RNC to be much better than the Dems. I was very wrong. It doesn't matter a lick, but the Dems production team should be proud.

Re: DNC Thread

I wish Biden would have run. After that speech last night, I would have run through a brick wall to support the man. He had me yelling, America! F@*k YEAH!!! in my basement.

Hillary will never be able to thank everyone enough for speaking on her behalf this week. From Michelle Obama, to Bill, to  Biden, to the President, everything has been teed her up to be successful tonight.

I only caught a little of Kaine and then all of Obama last night.

I will have to check out Biden's speech online. I wanted to hear it. I like him.

There is a WORLD of difference between the Republican tone at the convention and the Democrats tone.
