I don't think Trump admitted to having the Russians hack the DNC.

I'm not sure "jokingly" saying that the Russians should hack the DNC is a smart thing to do, but he really seem to be the "teflon Don" and nothing he says turns out bad for him.

I'm convinced about half the American electorate is so tired of politicians as usual, they are relishing someone who is not talking like a normal politician

 
This is a good point, and likely true.  This is why he won the nomination, and is neck and neck with Hillary in the polls.  He says lots of stupid things, as if he thinks it is required to publicly state every thought that he has in his brain, but there are a lot of people who find that refreshing and are sick of the scripted politician speeches that just spout cliches and empty promises.

Unfortunately many of his "brain fart" ideas are dangerous either financially or from a security of the US standpoint. 

 
I agree entirely, but that is how corrupt and dishonest our career politicians are.  A significant number of people, maybe even enough people to win, would take their chances with a crazy guy who is an outsider than they would with another establishment politician.  That is saying something.  We can blow the supporters off as "uneducated, stupid, racist", whatever, but it does say something about our country's politicians and political system.

Like I have said before, our electorate scares me more than Trump himself.
