LOL

I seriously do sorta feel bad for Melania though. Because the Trump campaign is essentially a disorganized mess that allowed this to happen, she's going to get this undeserved blowback from the media.

Then there was this mess-up by Trump.

On Fox News, Trump pre-empts Benghazi speeches

Donald Trump phoned into Fox News on Monday night, interrupting the network's coverage of the first night of the Republican National Convention.

While two survivors of the Benghazi attack were on stage recounting their ordeal to rapturous applause, Fox News viewers were watching Trump badmouthing Ohio Gov. John Kasich for skipping the convention. Never mind that Trump had made the Benghazi attack a central theme of the convention's opening night.

A draft of Trump's acceptance speech was leaked,
Here it is;

Two things where Fox went against the grain of RNC coverage.

The first was that they were the only cable news channel to not show the fight for a roll call vote on the delegate rules live. It was a dramatic moment that showed a significant number of anti-Trump delegates and Fox turned away. A very interesting choice.

And then the second was preempting Ms. Smith for Trump himself.

I think with Fox it's all about the ratings and my guess is that they know that they get more of a bump keeping O'Reilly on the air interviewing Trump, then showing lesser known speakers from the convention when anyone who really wants to see it can flip over to CSPAN or CNN or whatever.

Typical trump. Still fighting a primary opponent long after he won.

I still wonder if Trump is smarter than we give him credit for.

Think about it, Trump is now the establishment. He and his campaign showed it yesterday when they shut down the anti-Trump forces on the floor.

So to counter that, he goes on the highest rated cable news channel and talks about how he defeated the establishment (Kasich) thereby keeping his street cred around being an outsider.

Just a thought.

Well, it might be a smart strategy poorly executed.

I would perhaps buy it, IF he did not pre-empt the main speaker who had one of the key points his campaign wants to keep making.

It further reminds me how undisciplined and uncoordinated his campaign is.

The Benghazi myth only applies to a subsection of the Republican Party as a whole. For the first night, the Trump convention spoke to those people, but kept that section largely out of the spotlight (most of the Benghazi section was talked over by pundits while it was going on.

Tonight, we start the see the Washington and GOP establishment types step in. McConnell, Ryan, and Christie. I think we'll see a more (relatively speaking) normal RNC starting tonight.
