Obama leaves Clinton with a Democratic Party moving left
Will it even matter with Donald Trump as the Republican nominee? It will probably give them an opportunity to move more to the left than if the Republican nominee was Bush, Rubio or Cruz.

No, it isn't going to matter.
Trump vs Clinton is going to hinge on personal like or dislike way more than ideology.
