Woman fined for being too close to popular Eagle Cam nest; WGAL crew issued warnings
A York County birdwatcher has been fined and a WGAL television reporter and cameraman warned by the Pennsylvania Game Commission after they filmed a segment on Feb. 16 at the popular Eagle Cam eagle nest in York County.Karen Lippy, a Hanover birdwatcher who escorted the WGAL team to the eagle nest near Hanover, paid a $237 fine Tuesday morning at a district justice’s office in Hanover, according to Game Commission spokesman Travis Lau. The fine was for interference with an eagle nest.She also was issued a warning for encroaching on an eagle nest. Such a charge could have netted Lippy up to a $1,500 fine.
