The republican vision for our country seems to be this; if you want to be safe In your own country, buy a gun.
Not just any gun, but a gun designed for warfare. Buy an AR-15. Get a large magazine too. Keep it handy at home, at arms reach while your kids are playing in the driveway. Take it with you shopping, to the movies, to school, to dinner in a restaurant, to a night club. Similarly arm Mrs Jones, the sweet 62 year old who teaches spelling to your first grader. Be ready for a pitched gun battle with heavily armed people while attending church, or at the softball game. That's what America is, and there's just Nothing to be done about it.
Don't look to your government to stop terrorists from buying a similar weapon. Don't look to the government to do universal background checks to deny these weapons to violent felons or the mentally ill.
Don't look for the government to ban any weapon from the civilian market. Gosh, that might inconvenience some "sportsman", or "responsible gun owner".
Instead, the republicans will increase jail sentences for those who commit gun crimes. Never mind that huge massacres were the FIRST gun crimes committed by Omar Manteen, Adam Lanza, and John Holmes.
Instead ban people rom the country if they adhere to a certain religion. Never mind the wrong done to millions of "responsible Muslims". That's ok.
Oh, And, by the way, you might want to save some money.
Why? Because when an even more destructive weapon becomes available, you are going to want to get one. After all, everybody else will get one and - to be safe - you will need to keep up.
What a horrible vision of life in the United States.
Is that really the best we can do?
One nation under Gun,,,,,

What other job can you get that allows you to just say "let's just take vacation, with pay of course, for the next couple of weeks rather than do our jobs" and your boss lets you get away with that dysfunctional approach to abdicating your responsibilities?
That is exactly what our federal legislators do, and we, the voters, their bosses, allow them to do just that.
Write, e-mail, phone your representative and tell them to get back to work and do their jobs.

God bless Elizabeth Warren!
I did call her office and I said just that.
I love this country too much to give up!
My rep Richard Neal was also there and I gave him a call as well.
I love Massachusetts ,

Their vision is totally messed up on this issue.
Add "the Don" and his rantings and we have a total meltdown of a vision for the US.
