This STILL is America where people have the freedom of speech whether we like it or not.

ABSOLUTELY CORRECT!

Maybe I missed who or what was making any statement about agreeing or not agreeing the groups or people applying for a permit.
Thank god that we have an 1st amendment!  Political speech is so important especially today when groups are trying to silence people who they don't agree with!

Whaaaattt??!

You've been on the internet, right? You've come across the main cable news channels, and the ancillary cable channels like One America, Newsmax, and The Blaze, right? You've read the comments section of a political Facebook post, right. Hell, the View has a whole segment that's pretty much dedicated to politics almost every day.

My Lord, we have an annoyingly high amount of political speech, free and loud, these days. It's almost impossible to avoid.

Do a little research on what is going on college campus today. Look at what the Federal Government has done to scrub words that they do not like. Look at what happened yesterday when they tried to redact words they did not like in the 911 transcripts. Look at what the IRS did to conservative groups. Look at how certain words have been removed from FBI manuals. Look at the word games with in the military........... What was Facebook doing?
If you support our immigration laws you are labeled as a ........ They want you quiet.
There can never be too much free speech!

No I have not been on the internet!

“We hold these truths to be self-evident,”  former vice president Biden said during a campaign event in Texas on Monday. "All men and women created by — you know, you know, the thing.”

Yes, colleges are awash in liberal thought and some students have gotten wacky with the trigger warnings and white privilege talk and stuff like that.

Political speech is still abundant across our nation

Yes, governments throughout history have tried to whitewash events and keep information from their citizens.

It is because we have so many avenues of political speech, citizen journalists, and mainstream journalists that things like what happened with the redaction of the Orlando was so quickly reversed. Same with the IRS getting called out for its shenanigans. Same with Zuckerberg having to spend a day with Glenn Beck.

I look at people who say that somehow political speech is being silenced with the same disdain that I look at people who say secular humanists are turning America into a godless country.

Just as you can't drive 2 miles without seeing a church in almost every part of this nation, you can't go two seconds without reading or hearing someone's (my own included) two bit political opinion.

I think you're going to see a lot of different United States of America over the next three, four, or eight years. - President Donald J. Trump

Very well stated.
This "war" on free speech is about as phony as that silly war on Christmas
