All last week all we heard is we don't know why the shooter did what he did. He says over and over in the 911 calls why he did it but the DOJ decided to redact references to ISIS. See we have no idea why he did it. Thanks DOJ! Transparency at it's best.
Ryan attacks ‘preposterous’ decision to redact ISIS from shooter’s transcript
Speaker Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) quickly criticized the Justice Department’s decision to redact references to the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS) from a partial transcript of calls made by the Orlando nightclub shooter to negotiators, calling the move "preposterous."
“We know the shooter was a radical Islamist extremist inspired by ISIS. We also know he intentionally targeted the LGBT community,” Ryan said in a statement Monday.“The administration should release the full, unredacted transcript so the public is clear-eyed about who did this, and why.”
The FBI’s decision to withhold references to ISIS, even while saying Omar Mateen called himself and Islamic soldier, has swiftly become a new point of contention between the administration and congressional Republicans.Law enforcement officials said on Monday that authorities made the decision to avoid spreading ISIS’s propaganda and to try to prevent copycats from being inspired by Mateen, who killed 49 people and wounded 53 others in the June 12 attack at a gay nightclub.“We’re not going to propagate violent rhetoric that comes from other people, whether it comes from here or overseas,” FBI agent Ronald Hopper told reporters during a press conference on Monday.
Doing so, he warned, might “inflame” other adherents of ISIS.“We’re not going to continue to put their names out front.”Other officials have said that the move is designed to prevent “re-victimizing” people who may have been affected by the worst mass shooting in U.S. history. Florida Gov. Rick Scott (R) on Monday similarly panned the Obama administration's decision."This seems like it is another example of not focusing on the evil here. This is evil. It’s ISIS. It’s radical Islam," Scott said on Fox's "America's Newsroom.""We all would like answers. She should release everything that doesn’t impact the investigation," Scott added of Attorney General Loretta Lynch, noting that he's been meeting with families of the victims."We are all looking for answers. Why wouldn’t she release everything? We all need to know, but especially these families," Scott said.

And if they hadn't redacted it someone have been phony outraged that the DOJ was helping the guy spread his propaganda.
Oh well, now they have a shiny object to use to distract people with the partisan freak show

Oh boy, sources for the above article are thehill.com (The newspaper and its website are popular with American conservatives, and rank among the top links on many conservative websites and blogs, earning a top 10 spot in one list), and Fox 'news' (we repeat, you comply).
Two vaunted, unbiased, and verifiable news outlets. Especially in an election year, you know these people are going to take every shot, no matter how impotent, at Obama's administration in an effort to make the republican candidate seem to be not such a horrible choice. That task is akin to the task of Sisyphus.
Good luck with that!

I tend to lean towards the gov't offering full disclosure on these types of things, particularly since we know that this guy had, at least to some extent, radical ISIS type leanings (although I generally think he was more of a self-loathing gay guy with severe mental issues).
But because we know that the guy had those jihadi thoughts, based on previous reporting, I don't see what it really matters one way or the other.

So, here is the un-redacted phone call:
DOJ Reversal: Unredacted Transcripts of Orlando Gunman's 9-1-1 Call Released After Outrage Over Initially Scrubbed Documents
JOINT STATEMENT FROM JUSTICE DEPARTMENT AND FBI REGARDING TRANSCRIPT RELATED TO THE ORLANDO TERROR ATTACK
WASHINGTON - The Department of Justice and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) issued the following statement regarding the FBI's release of the transcript related to the Orlando shooting:
“The purpose of releasing the partial transcript of the shooter's interaction with 911 operators was to provide transparency, while remaining sensitive to the interests of the surviving victims, their families, and the integrity of the ongoing investigation. We also did not want to provide the killer or terrorist organizations with a publicity platform for hateful propaganda. Unfortunately, the unreleased portions of the transcript that named the terrorist organizations and leaders have caused an unnecessary distraction from the hard work that the FBI and our law enforcement partners have been doing to investigate this heinous crime. As much of this information had been previously reported, we have re-issued the complete transcript to include these references in order to provide the highest level of transparency possible under the circumstances.”
Transcript of Orlando Police Department 911 Calls, June 12, 2016
2:35 a.m.: Shooter contacted a 911 operator from inside Pulse. The call lasted approximately 50 seconds, the details of which are set out below:
(OD) Orlando Police Dispatcher
(OM) Omar Mateen
OD: Emergency 911, this is being recorded.
OM: In the name of God the Merciful, the beneficent [Arabic]
OD: What?
OM: Praise be to God, and prayers as well as peace be upon the prophet of God [Arabic]. I wanna let you know, I’m in Orlando and I did the shootings.
OD: What’s your name?
OM: My name is I pledge of allegiance to Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi of the Islamic State.
OD: Ok, What’s your name?
OM: I pledge allegiance to Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi may God protect him [Arabic], on behalf of the Islamic State.
OD: Alright, where are you at?
OM: In Orlando.
OD: Where in Orlando?
[End of call.]
Somehow, somewhere, some conspiracy theorists are still going to spin this as a failure by the Obama administration, and another indication that the left wing, jack booted thugs acting as agents of the progressive government operatives are going to rescind the second amendment and confiscate the guns of real 'mericans. This will also give credence to the theory that Obama is not a real 'merican and he prays to Allah in a secret mosque he had constructed in the basement of the White House.

Redacted or not, this changes EXACTLY WHAT ??
We consider ISIS a terrorist organization and every day are conducting offensive air operations against them and co-ordinating with Iraqi troops to defeat them.
Just more political back and forth that means NOTHING !

You don't have a problem with the government censoring 911 transcripts?
So any time they decide to redact information it's OK?
Once again this administration sends out their spokesperson (Lynch) who makes a fool of herself explaining why they are redacting the 911 transcript and then just hours after they are released they release the the underacted transcript.

Feds reverse course, release full Orlando shooter transcript
The Justice Department quickly reversed course on Monday after coming under intense criticism for redacting references to the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS) in the transcript of a 911 call made by Orlando gunman Omar Mateen. Roughly four hours after releasing the censored June 12 transcript, the administration caved to pressure, releasing the text of the call in full.

Yeah, we know. I already posted the un-redacted phone call above without the senseless accusatory statements of the biased talking heads at thehill.com.
I guess some people just choose to ignore the content of other post. Or they fail to comprehend the rather straight forward content . . . It lacks the spin they desire.
