Will Trump drag down the GOP with him ?

With his call for his surrogates to double down on his attacks on Judge Curiel will his GOP party rally around him in support ?  My guess is NO. They are already in an uncomfortable position between his attacks on Latinos, women, and back-handed support of blacks. I can't think of ANY politician that his been so dismissive of large blocks of voters as Mr Trump. It has to have an effect on peoples perception of the GOP itself. We will know in a few short months just IF and HOW MUCH damage he has done.

I agree.

The high muck-a-mucks of the Republican Party are already involved in meetings as to how they are going to repair the party image with the electorate subsequent to the damage done in this election.

Re: Will Trump drag down the GOP with him ?

At least Ronald Reagans son had the guts to call out Mr Trump.

Ronald Reagan’s Son: I’m Not Voting For Trump And Neither Would My Dad
Michael Reagan said Trump is the first GOP presidential candidate his father wouldn’t support.

What a disaster.
I see the GOP officials focusing more and more on saving the House and Senate, and leaving Trump to twist in the wind.

Prominent republicans that called Drumpf a bigot, and now pledge to vote for him.

Can you say "hypocrite"?

Re: Will Trump drag down the GOP with him ?

Well a few of the GOPers are already bailing.

Paul Ryan - "I'm not even going to pretend to defend them," adding that Trump's remarks resembled "the textbook definition of a racist comment."

Lindsey Graham -  'If anybody was looking for an off-ramp, this is probably it'

,

BTW, just to show how hate filled this whole thing has become (and will continue to be) a Trump surrogate is now calling Ryan a "racist".

Trump surrogate calls Ryan racist

Yes, I DO believe the GOP is going down the tubes with this man.

Wow. Extraordinary events.

The Extremist is intoxicated by his own press. He thinks he is above all.
A disaster.

Someone needs to save the GOP.

The time has come for the Speaker of the House to make strong move showing that he is in fact the leader of the party, that he has morals, a soul, and strength.

Re: Will Trump drag down the GOP with him ?

Interesting comments and observations from everyone.  I'm beginning to think that Donald Trump might bail out of the whole thing while trying to save face with some off-the-wall excuse.

I'm beginning to wonder if the whole "Make America Great Again" and his success came as a surprise even to him, and never expected to be actually nominated.  To him, it may have been a publicity stunt right from the start.

What do you think?

I hear ya, Fred. I think that Trump is just as surprised as anyone.
I also wonder if the guy really wants to be President. King would be a better job for his temperament.
He sure doesn't seem to have much interest in issues, or in collaborating with legislators, etc.
Can you imagine the frustration he would experience actually being a President?
Yikes!
