I will re-post the same answer I posted in the similar topic.

While in the US there is freedom of speech there is not freedom from the consequences of that same free speech. Mr Trump free-rolling insults on women, minorities, reporters, etc was sure to provoke outrage. That it rose to violence becomes a police issue which is where is needs to be handled . But to think that Mr Trump is just an unwitting participant in all of this is ridiculous.

It goes without saying that Trump poured the gasoline and lit the match. These protesters are adding all of the additional fuel to the bomb Trump wanted to build.

All of us must look to King, Gandhi, and all of those who advocate for peaceful protests or civil disobedience. And to look towards the future.

After November, Trump will go home and things will go back to (somewhat) normal.

Don't do something that you'll regret for years to come.

A lot of us watched Trump Throwing people out of events a few months ago. He said that he "wished I could punch him in the mouth".

He mused about paying the legal expenses of a guy who sucker punched a black man......
And we said, "whoa, this thing is going to get out of hand".
And here we are.

I'm throwing out a very real possibility here.  Among some there seems to be this assumption the protesters are Sanders and/or Clinton supporters.  Consider the possibility some of these people simply hate Donald Trump ..... his style of management, his attitude, his demeanor, his bullying tactics, etc.

Sanders and Clinton may have nothing to do with the resentment and anger many have for this guy, and the idea of electing him president is both offensive and utterly unthinkable.

True. These are not acts of political strategy. They are acts of uncontrolled rage. Nothing that benefits anybody.

And it really is beyond the pale to suggest that the mayor is somehow preventing the police from controlling these "mobs" because he supports Clinton. Absent some evidence, the charge is irresponsible.

No, no, no, Fred. You've got it all wrong. It's all a big conspiracy organized and orchestrated by Drumpf's perceived enemies and detractors.

Because no reasonable person would take Drumpf's rhetoric, actions, personal put-downs, name calling, verbal attacks, flip-flopping or non-existing positions on issues, nasty vitriolic comments, and general abrasive demeanor towards others as anything but positive and presidential.

Anyhow, that's what the talking heads on Fox 'news' told me.

"San Jose Mayor Sam Liccardo, a Democrat and Hillary Clinton supporter, criticized Trump for coming to cities and igniting problems that local police departments had to deal with."

Really Mayor Liccardo?
