This caught my eye:
The problem with this analysis, however, is that most independents are really closeted partisans, and there is no sign that true independents disproportionately like Sanders.
Most voters who identify as independent consistently vote for one party or the other in presidential elections.
You know, in the unscientific sampling of "Folks Goose interacts with in life and the internet", I have found this to hold true. Most "independents" I talk to always seem to end up in November voting for the candidate of the same party.
Maybe they are kidding themselves about being "above the fray"?

Well, Brady, I'm a Progressive first and foremost. Period. If I were alive, for example, I would have voted for Teddy Roosevelt, and later for Dwight Eisenhower. Team labels mean nothing to me.
