VE Day

VE Day or simply V Day was the public holiday celebrated on 8 May 1945 (7 May in Commonwealth realms) to mark the formal acceptance by the Allies of World War II of Nazi Germany's unconditional surrender of its armed forces. It thus marked the end of World War II in Europe.

"With confidence in our armed forces, with the unbounding determination of our people, we will gain the inevitable triumph -- so help us God".

We live in a time in which decent and otherwise sensible people are surrendering too easily to the hectoring of morons or extremists.

Re: VE Day

I've been meaning to ask...will there be more installments of your story?

I enjoyed what you posted.  I think just about everyone else here did too.

If you make yourself miserable trying to make others happy that means everyone is miserable.
