What would a "progressive Christian" tow truck operator do when looking at a vehicle plastered with Trump or Cruz bumper stickers?
Just askin'.
That's easy. He would help her.
Do you have any data to suggest otherwise?

Wow, not a very Christian thing to do at all. Me and my wife run a business and we wouldn't even think twice about doing business with someone if they had Bernie, Hillary or Trump posters plastered all over their yard.
I can see more of these type stories occurring from both sides.

OK what does this mean? There is one guy who says he is a conservative Christian who is just a plain old fashion jerk!
One jerk does not represent anyone else. Unfortunately there are jerks everywhere!
To somehow try to spin this story into anything else is pure fantasy.
Christian or non christian most decent people would help a women in need.

The message is obvious: If you are a Christian, then you must be a member of the R-Tribe. Or maybe, if you are a Republican, you must be a Christian? And I thought Jesus followers were generous, caring human beings.
It may shock you but there are millions of democrats who are Christians!
Jesus followers are no different than the population. There are good, bad and indifferent.

Here is Pew Research as to how the D vs R breakout by religious (and non-religious) groupings.

Great discussion here.
The bottom line is that, except for a tiny, arrogant minority most Christians realize that they are forgiven sinners who continue to struggle with sin until their dying breath. And most Christians understand that what is widely held as the favorite New Testament verse "For God so loved the world...." means people of all races, languages, and orientations.
The sadness is that "most" does not equal "all". And the tragedy is that the group which constitutes the remainder of "all" receives a disproportionate amount of attention.

There is a distinction to be made here between religious Christianity, and political Christianity.
Religious Christianity consists of a brotherhood of imperfect souls attempting to live their lives according to the teachings of Christ.
When talking about Political Christianity in the context of 20th and 21st century America one is usually referring to the political power established by the evangelical Christian movement. That movement is primarily on the right wing of the political spectrum. And, let's be honest, that right wing movement does have some leaders and adherents who are intolerant and/or have accumulated power by appealing to the biases of others. They reach beyond their communities and try to push their vision of social order onto others with legislation.
So, yea, there are Christians all along the political spectrum. There are Christians who "get" the teachings of Christ, just as there are Christians who - sadly - use their faith as an excuse for their hatred of the other. Mr Shupe is expressing an extreme interpretation of political Christianity.
So, while I think it's safe to call out this particular guy for what he is, let's not paint with too broad a brush. But, let us not pretend that the obvious does not exist, either.

CS: my intent was not to paint Christians as like minded as this jerk.
I suspect there are many Christians who would take him to task for this.
He's just using a belief system to beat someone else over the head.
Unfortunately, there are also likely a number of people who would call themselves Christians who would agree with him.

My original reason for posting this wasn't to do anything more than to draw attention to the dangers of stirring politics and religion and business into one giant and toxic soup. Picture the ramifications of doing that in a democratic society.
