Re: America Has Never Been So Ripe For Tyranny

I might counter that the influence of money has a bigger impact on congressional, state, and local elections?

I would agree that maybe big money may not affect presidential elections as much as we'd like to think, but perhaps the real prizes are congressional seats and governorships.  Something to consider anyway.

Perhaps so, Fred.
Maybe "down ticket" money is more important because you don't have the ravenous national 24/7 political media to get your message out.

Also, perhaps while money is very important, there might be a ceiling to its effect. You need a certain amount to play the game, but more than that does advance you further?

Flower:  My guess would be few or none.

People are easily taken in by rhetoric and hyperbole.  They hear the words but fail to understand the meaning.

They are spoon-fed their information and never question it.

Gormlessness is a natural state anymore.

Re: America Has Never Been So Ripe For Tyranny

Although we still have WAY TO MUCH money involved in the political process, we have seen this election that the BIG MONEY donors have not really made that much of a difference.

Sorry, left out a word
