Another reason our federal legislature gets nothing done
A BIG reason . . . The amount of time they spend on fund raising.
Watch this. It takes about 21 minutes, but you'll laugh, you'll cry, and you'll be exasperated by the fact that these people spend more time fund raising to help with their re-election than they do concerning themselves with actually legislating for the benefit of all Americans. Think about this when you hear one of our blowhard legislators on some 'news' show telling you what they say "the American people want".
Seriously . . . Watch this when you have the time.

Politics today ................. begin to raise money for the next election the day after you are elected. Getting elected is the goal, I suppose actually governing is annoying to them. Sad.

It kinda makes me want to hurl when these folks refer to themselves as 'public servants'.
Hogwash.
Their goal, once elected, is to get reelected. Nothing else matters.
If you make yourself miserable trying to make others happy that means everyone is miserable.
