Beginning of the End?

Methinks the Trumpster's goose is about to be cooked.  Not even Cheney, Bush, or Gingrich hit this new low:

For months, as Donald Trump lurched from controversy to controversy, commentators marveled that his voters remained loyal: Trump is impervious to political attack, some said.

Not so. Trump wasn't immune; analysts were just failing to look at the whole board. Controversy over Trump has failed to dent his standing with his core supporters in the Republican primaries, but his image among the rest of the electorate has plunged.

The share of Americans with an unfavorable view of Trump is extraordinary: 68% in the most recent Bloomberg poll, 67% in the CNN/ORC survey, 67% in the ABC/Washington Post poll, 65% from Gallup. The 57% unfavorable rating he received in the most recent CBS/New York Times survey looks mild by comparison.

Good to know.

I was beginning to think everyone had gone mad.

Re: Beginning of the End?

They have been saying for the last 9 months Trump is done.
I agree terrible numbers right now but he has been under a barrage of negativity unlike we have ever seen.
From all sides. And then add his very reckless speech and right now the perfect storm.

I would not count him out yet. He will make a big shift but will it be able to counter act all of the other stuff?
Time will tell. Trump is not going anywhere. Without a doubt he will be at the convention in July.

“We hold these truths to be self-evident,”  former vice president Biden said during a campaign event in Texas on Monday. "All men and women created by — you know, you know, the thing.”

Re: Beginning of the End?

Some people feel the Bern and others sense the Trumpster burn.  Let  us hope these latest polls play out.

Re: Beginning of the End?

I know I'm going out on a limb here, but I predict no matter what, Donald Trump will not be the flag carrier for the R-Tribe in November.  I just don't see the RNC letting that happen.

Re: Beginning of the End?

If the latest polls in Wisconsin are correct (Cruz with a 5% to 10% lead), it will be really difficult for Trump to get to 1,237 delegates before the convention.  With the way things are going for Trump, if he isn't at 1,237, I don't think he will be the nominee.

Donald Trump again leaves open door to third-party bid

The only thing more scary for the GOP than Trump running for President, is his splitting off the already fractured party into a 3rd Party run.

Re: Beginning of the End?

The bad news for the Republican Party is that, as their presidential candidates continue to drag each other through the mire of juvenile arguments and accusations, the deeper the fissures become in the fragmentation of the party. Their only hope is that something happens, or someone comes along to miraculously heal the divisions and solidify the party behind some consensus candidate. With the prospect of a brokered convention looming on the horizon, it appears the prospects of one candidate making a third party run, or many people deciding to not support the brokered candidate, the Republicans leave the door wide open for their worst nightmare to come to fruition: Hillary Clinton in the White House.

The only silver lining for republicans in this scenario is that they will have four years to complain, obstruct, cast villainous aspersions, and demonize the first woman president through op-eds, speeches on the house floor, and ad nauseum appearances on various Fox 'news' programs. All of which they've become quite comfortable at, and seem to enjoy that role in our current political system.

And you and I know that the ONE THING that they will NOT be criticizing is THEMSELVES
