Here's how I see it.
What happens to this one guy isn't really important in the grand scheme of things. The guy was against the ACA, something bad happened to him, and fortunately for the guy he has enough friends/supporters that he may recieve enough assistance that his health problems won't bankrupt him.
What is important is that this guy's vociferous voice against the ACA may have caused others to not get health insurance. And when and if those people get sick, where is their GoFundMe page?
If someone wants to roll the dice and not purchase health insurance because it doesn't align with your particular flavor of governing philosophy, so be it. It's a free country.
But don't encourage other people to do the same.

Agreed.
Now, if this guy had a solution that would be something. He CHOSE not to have insurance. Even if he DIDN"T WANT the ACA, at least he should have had insurance on his own IF he was a responsible person. As I said earlier, he has now (hopefully) learned a hard lesson. The Boy Scouts always had a good motto that he should have followed - Be Prepared !

Single payer system is the answer.
But if you have to work in the system we've got, I don't see an option better than the ACA.

What I don't understand is this:
Most resistance to the ACA is coming from the right hand political spectrum.
The same spectrum that rants about personal responsibility.
So the law says you have to be responsible and insure yourselves and your family.
Why are they griping? Isn't this exactly what they want?

Unfortunately, I think the truth of the matter is that it really doesn't matter if that's what they want. The guy in the White House that they dislike is for it, so they are against it. No matter if it would help them or not. I believe they call that 'cutting off your nose to spite your face'.
Reminder - It was a Republican idea to begin with.

And, therefore, the opposite of progress is congress.

Speaking of politics,,,,,,,,
Ben Carson says he has proof that being gay is a choice.
OMG.
Forget the stupidity of the remark.
Why, oh why would a presdential candidate think that this is something germane to the job he's trying to get?

Ben Carson is a sideshow in the political landscape.

"'Because a lot of people who go into prison go into prison straight and when they come out they're gay. So did something happen while they were in there?' Carson said."
