Study: Sanders's tax plan would raise $15.3 trillion

http://thehill.com/policy/finance/271803-analysis-sanderss-tax-plan-would-raise-153-trillion

This is what would make it very hard for Sanders to win the general election.

Re: Study: Sanders's tax plan would raise $15.3 trillion

Bernie Sanders' tax plan would result in all of us paying a lot more in taxes, from the lower class to the upper class.  It wouldn't just be the upper class, like he wants people to think.  That is why he has no chance to win a presidential election.

I just don't see the appetite in this country for the large scale tax increases to guarantee "medicare for all" and free college tuition

'Free' healthcare is one thing.  I think that could be doable.  But, 'free' college, not so much.  Not only is that cost prohibitive, but not everyone is college material.  Not everyone should go to college.

I will give credit to Bernie for actually proposing for a way to pay for his ideas.  I' not sure if these taxes would be enough to cover everything he wants to do, but at least he has come up with something.

Kind of novel when you look at some of the other people taking aim at the POTUS position.

I definitely respect Sanders for his honesty and not "playing the game" to try and get elected.  I really wish all candidates would conduct themselves in this manner

However, I don't agree with his policy prescriptions and could never vote for him.

"We are, if elected president, going to invest a lot of money into mental health, and when you watch these Republican debates, you know why.".  Bernie Sanders at the March 6, 2016 Democratic debate.

It's amazing what Sanders has done to energize new/young voters to get so involved. When you look at the of number people who have donated to his campaign it's just remarkable to see. Will the Clinton campaign be able to sway Sander's voters in the general election?

I do like Sanders plain talk but would not vote for him because of the large tax increases that would be needed to pay for all the free stuff.

“We hold these truths to be self-evident,”  former vice president Biden said during a campaign event in Texas on Monday. "All men and women created by — you know, you know, the thing.”

Re: Study: Sanders's tax plan would raise $15.3 trillion

I think that is the big question, will Sanders voters go for Hillary in the general election?

If Trump is the Republican nominee, I think there is a good segment of Bernie's voters who may go for him.  While their styles and resolutions are different, they both strike a populist, Washington is corrupt tone and there will be cross-over with those voters.
