Had lunch with friends there today and was quite satisfied with our food. Nicely prepared, fresh ingredients with one caveat. The sandwiches (on rolls or bread) are huge! One could easily serve two moderate eaters. Service was excellent.
A nice job was done with the makeover of the building but I would have done a little less of the dark wood--it is everywhere, making the many rooms very dark inside. Comfortable seating at a round table which is more conducive to conversation but the large, open room could do with a little more soundproofing. The First Post will be included in our round of lunch restaurants for a future visit.

We too though the makeover was done very well and enjoyed the food. The menu was limited, but what we had was very good. We also will be visiting there again.

You are somewhat late with that bit of news Common. It's been open for lunch--which is when I was there yesterday--for several weeks.

Yes I know that. The article is from November of last years but it gave some good information about the restaurant so that is why I posted it.

I still need to go try this place. My first job was there, when it was The Roadhouse, washing dishes and making salads. I wasn't crazy about The Roadhouse's food, but I need to give First Post a try.

Sorry, but you are too much of an "odious creature" to enjoy a restaurant as nice as the First Post.

True, but maybe they have some wild greens, preferably topped with anchovies, that someone of my stature could enjoy? Lol.
